Manage and promote users

Available for: Managers and Administrators

On the Users page Administrators and Managers can manage all of the registered users and perform the following functions:

  • Explore Users
  • Update and promote existing users (details, user type, delete)
  • Assign users to a particular organisation (if configured), individually or by Batch editing

Explore Users

On the User List (navigate here from top right hand corner of screen) you see a list of all registered users in the database that you can

  • filter just like any other list (see Lists: filter items)
  • select to explore and update details (see below)
  • batch update, specifically assigning an organisation if configured (see Batch editing)

Update & promote Single User

From the Single User View (selected from User List), click 'EDIT' (see screenshot below)

Here you can update the following information:

  • User name
  • Registered email address
  • User role: by clicking on the user role drop down menu (circled in screenshot below) you can promote and also demote users (Note: Managers can only promote other Users to Contributors - only Administrators can assign Manager and Administrator roles)
  • Organisation of user (if configured)

Invite users

Currently users cannot be invited through the application. Instead you will have to contact the user personally and:

  1. Invite the user by sending a link to the registration page (see Register)
  2. Once the user has registered, promote the user (see above)
